It gives me goosebumps just to type that quote. It brings tears to my eyes to think about the POWER of that quote. How often do we all let negative self-talk and darkness from within, hold us back from living our best life? I know I let it hold me back from living my full potential sometimes. We ALL battle with insecurities. BUT I truly believe that when you let your LIGHT shine, you can change the world around you in a beautiful, positive way. When we learn to love and accept ourselves, it transforms not only US but everyone and everything around us. I talk a lot about improving your "physical" body, but true health starts from a place of self-love. When you love someone, you want to take the best care of them right? So the same goes for yourself. When you truly love yourself, you will want to take the best care of yourself.
As I start this new Facebook challenge group, I want the focus to be on learning to take care of yourself, not just physically, but mentally. It's not about weight loss, the number on the scale, how big your muscles are, or how tiny your waist is. It is about taking the best care of your health, and the byproduct of that will be feeling better in your own skin. This challenge is about becoming a better version of YOU. We are always a "work in progress" and as we strive to become better, our health, mood, and relationships will all become better. Sure, you may lose weight or gain muscle which is AWESOME too. But I have learned that in order to make lasting changes to live a healthier life, you have to take small steps along the way that will lead to BIG RESULTS.
You will need some patience and forgiveness on this journey. Quick fixes and 30 days of eating a strict diet may work for the short term, but I want to teach you how to eat a balanced diet that comes from a place of abundance, not restriction. I want to teach you how incorporating weight training into your life can help you feel strong mentally and physically. It can also help strengthen your bones and improve your metabolism.
I am bringing in a few friends to help me facilitate this challenge group because isn't LIFE so much better when our Girlfriends are along for the ride? I will be introducing them in greater depth soon through their blog posts/videos. Jaclyn Snyder is going to be our mental health coach, who is also working towards opening her own practice as a therapist. AND Mandy Robinson is going to be our motivating Yoga girl. I can't wait to introduce these AMAZING women who are going to take this challenge to the NEXT level and Transform your life in such a POSITIVE way.
